Degree program objective:
The primary objective of the study program is that the student shall develop theoretical and practical competence for development and practical construction within the area of electrical engineering. The student shall with the program reach a good basis for PhD studies in electrical engineering.

Upon completion of the program:
The student can, in an independent way, describe how semiconductor components and optoelectronic equipment are designed and how they are being used.
The student can discuss research and development within photonics and microelectronics.

The following courses are offered within the program.

Compulsory courses:
Thesis, 15 credits,
Solid states electronics I, 7.5 credits,
Solid states electronics II, 7.5 credits,
Photonics, 7.5 credits,
Technology for micro- and nanostructures, 7.5 credits

Optional courses:
Multivariable calculus, 7.5 credits. (First level course),
Mathematical physics, 7.5 credits,
Optical communication, 7.5 credits,
System-on-a chip design, 7.5 credits
